Dental logos and how to pick them

Dentistry not only ranks among the best- paid professions in the United States, Canada, and other wealthy countries; it is also expanding with the population. The often- colorful logos of dental offices appear in the yellow pages anywhere. So coming up with an expressive dental logo is one of the most crucial factors in determining business success.

Dentistry differs from business in several important ways. Whereas marketing businesses have to compete with each other to sell the highest quality products, dental offices are in most cases chosen by those who live within commuting distance of them. It is nonetheless crucial that dentists inspire their patients’ confidence in them. Especially with parents of young children, who may fear visiting the dentist. It is unfortunate that many dentists fail to grasp just how important the logo is in getting the desired results. It comes as no surprise that almost every dental logo look appallingly similar to one another.

To be truly effective, a dental logo should fulfill several purposes. It should put forth the impression that patients seeking dental care here will receive the best they can get. It should also show how well this practitioner does his work. But most importantly, the logo needs to make the office which it represents, shine above all competitors. After all, this logo is the first sight that catches people’s eyes when they examine a brochure or a business card from the office. Those people are right who say that “you only get one chance to make a good first impression.”

There are companies that are in the business of designing and printing dental logos. The logos they have made really stand out. City Dental’s logo features a maroon background with a white figure of toothpaste on a toothbrush whose bristles form a skyline of a city. Then there is the logo for Garden City Dental- four toothbrushes in a row, each differing in height and color, standing up and with leaves growing out of them. Dental logos, as these examples all indicate, do not have to be full of detail- as with all advertising symbols, in fact, too much detail can be confusing- but, so long as the logo sets forth its intended message, there is plenty of room for imagination and expression.

Color, as the part of design that tends to be impressed the most on one’s memory, is for that reason one of the most significant parts. It is best to choose colors that can be easily associated with the business. In the case of dentistry, red, pink, and white, as mouth colors, are appropriate.
