Most people do not realize that the overall structure and value of the house that you live in can be diminished if it is not clean. It is easy to devalue your home if it is messy and disorganized. The way in which you clean your home is also important. Harsh chemicals are typically used when people clean their homes. You should not do this. The health of those residing in the house, along with the structure of the home, must be taken into consideration. The answer to this problem is to use green cleaning methods that will help you get the job done. The following tips will help you do this the right way.

Unclutter your wardrobe. Some people will have mites and other types of bugs in their clothing, especially if it is in a sealed area. Mold may also develop as a result of this lack of organization. Mothballs are sometimes used to keep moths out, but this does not always work! Go through your closet and donate what has been gently used. Then, you will be down to the clothing you will never wear, and is in poor condition – use these for rags in the future. Cinnamon sticks, wrapped in old socks, is a great way to prevent the appearance of moths. An eco-friendly environment will be the net result. You’ll reduce your clutter. This will result in a closet that is pest free and that you can feel safe storing your favorite sweaters and other articles of clothing.

Hang dry your laundry when it comes out of the washer. During the winter months, it is nice to have a dryer, since there isn’t always sunshine to dry the hanging clothing. Still, they require the use of electricity and increase your carbon footprint. Anything that uses as much energy as a dryer is not good for the environment, plus it can surround you with more static electricity. Hanging your clothing dry isn’t just good for the environment. You can save money by not having to replace your clothing as often, because they will last longer not being banged around in the dryer.

Cleaning your house should never involve furniture polish. Never use furniture polish as it is made with chemicals that may hurt you. It can actually detrimentally impact your health. Air contamination can also occur. It is possible to negatively impact the structural integrity of any object that you clean using furniture polish. A more natural green alternative would be to combine one part lemon juice and two parts olive oil to make furniture polish that is natural. Use a soft cloth to rub the mixture into your furniture. This will create a nice glean and will be far better for the health and structure of everyone and everything involved. As a final note, it will smell much better than chemically-based furniture polish. So many people overlook the fact that how you clean matters just as much as whether or not you clean. Once you give your house a thorough cleaning, you will have a much better idea of what home improvement projects you need to do. Using bad cleansers can be harmful to your health and the health of your home, so by changing to green cleansers will have the opposite effect.
